NTI Work

 Parents and Students,
 
       Here you will find our first 5 days of NTI work in case of snow days! Students should complete these activities when we are out of school for weather. Students will complete 1 day of activities for each day we are out of school. All work should be submitted online or returned the first day we are back. Each day includes activities for Reading, Writing, Social Studies and Math. If you have any questions, I can be reached by email during normal school hours at tabor.placido@jessamine.kyschools.us. Day 1

Reading/Writing/Social Studies

​I can determine the main idea of a text and support with key details.
I can summarize a text.
I can write an informative paragraph to examine a topic and convey ideas clearly.
I can describe the purpose of the US government.
 
Research the three branches of government.

Create a Google Drawing and include a summary about what you read. In your drawing, draw a picture or diagram to show and explain the three branches. Submit your Google Drawing on Google Classroom. Share with me on Google Drive.
 
Math 

On Khan Academy, work on a 4th or 5th grade skill (depending on your grade level) for 20 minutes. Be sure you are working on a grade level skill. I will be checking the amount of time you work on my account. 
 

Day 2

Reading/Writing/Social Studies

​I can ask and answer questions about a text.
I can summarize a text.
I can write an informative paragraph to examine a topic and convey ideas clearly.
I can explain the historical documents that are important to the development of the US government.
 
Log in to Google Classroom. Read the passage about the Declaration of Independence. Answer the questions on the Google Form.

On Khan Academy, work on a 4th or 5th grade skill (depending on your grade level) for 20 minutes. 

Day 3

Reading/Writing/Social Studies

I can explain the historical documents that are important to the development of the US government.
 
Log into Google Classroom. Read the passage about the Constitution. Create a Google Drawing. Include a summary (a paragraph with one main idea sentence, 3 detail sentences, and a closing sentence) about what you read and create a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Turn in your Google Drawing on Google Classroom or share it with me on Google Drive.

Write a summary (a paragraph with one main idea sentence, 3 detail sentences, and a closing sentence) about what you read. Use the main idea and details from the text to help you create a poster to teach others about your president on Google Drawings. Share with me in Google Drive.

Choose an American Symbol to research (Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, Bald Eagle, American Flag, etc).
